Brainobrain Students Visit to Civil Defense Stations of Dubai

On March 2019, the UAE was ranked thesafest country in the world in the Global Safety Ranking 2019,  with 96.1% of people voting the country’s streets safe to walk, even during midnight. Singapore came in second with 94% of people feeling safe and secure. The country has very sound strategies and policies that effectively prevent and respond to any adverse situations proactively.

The vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to ensure a safe and secure nation is well comprehended and administered by the various Government Departments. The immaculate roles being played by the Civil Defense and the Police Departments in carrying out his vision has largely contributed in the making of this country’s high safety ranking.

Brainobrain wanted to give our students an outlook into the noble services being carried out in this line and the  Dubai Civil Defense was quick to respond to us with a welcome. 40 Brainobrain students visited various branches of Dubai Civil Defense and the officials gave a detailed account of the high-quality service being offered by them and how they are able to do the same.

Children were amused to see the in-house facilities made for the fire-fighters and the special costumes they use. “We saw the firefighter’s suit – it was REALLY HEAVY! Because it would protect them from the fire.” says Athena Morella of Brainobrain Centre in Al Nahda, Sharjah.

Joanna Mariam Renny of Brainobrain Al Qasimiya Centre, Sharjah was so taken aback when the she understood that the response time to every rescue-call is just 5-6 minutes now, and that officials are trying to reduce this gap too. She says - “They have to be very prompt and active. If they are praying when they hear the alarm, they have to break their prayer and go immediately. We should thank them for keeping us safe and for protecting us from danger!”

The firefighters demonstrated how they try to put out a fire. The kids were also given a chance to take a tour inside the fire-fighting trucks and also to try using the water-hose. The understanding about the troubles being undergone by every firefighter was a real eye-opener for the children. “A small heartbreaking fact is that every fireman’s life faces death everyday while saving other civilian’s life. But they are never afraid! They are really brave and are real heroes!” says Shourya J Vyas of Brainobrain Karama Centre, Dubai.

All the students highly appreciated the time and consideration being spared by the Civil Defense Officials to sensitize them on the life and role of every fire-fighter in our daily lives. As rightly said by Nivedya Vinod, a student of Brainobrain Butina Centre - “Now I understand that life is not easy and that I should go through every stage taken for keeping us safe in this country and thank the people involved”.

Our students unanimously rated the visit as an experience worth to cherish!
